I'm beginning to explore my new surroundings. Near my new home is this beautiful lake - the perfect place to take the air on a warm and sunny afternoon.
Of course when I went, it was freezing.
If truth be told, I tend to get a bit impatient around this time of year. Lighter evenings and blossoming trees seem to hold the promise of Spring, yet the temperatures are stuck in single figures. I am bored with all my heavy Winter jumpers, but when I put on something lighter and fresher, I freeze to death. First world problems, eh?
Despite the cold, I really enjoyed wearing this striped top and ripped jeans from River Island. No doubt I will get loads of wear out of this outfit once the weather improves. This is also my first pair of jeans with slashes across the knees. Very late on the bandwagon, I know, but I love them. I think they add a certain interest to an otherwise very plain outfit. As for the top, well, you can't go wrong with stripes, can you?
These H&M plimsolls are super comfortable. I can't find this particular style any more, but there are loads of cute alternatives here. Let's not even mention the trainer sock fail going on in this picture. Let's just skip right past it and look at a nice photo of some trees.
This is a really lovely spot. I can imagine coming here to walk quite a lot through the summer. It's totally man made, but I kind of love that. It reassures me to know that places like this get built, as well as just more shops, restaurants and houses all the time. I think the local wildlife agrees.
Who else is getting impatient for warmer weather, or has it already arrived where you are? And how do you like to style ripped jeans?
See you next time!

DeleteYou look gorgeous - love your style! I've been on the prowl for a leather jacket for probably two years. I can't find one that doesn't make me look like a butch biker.
ReplyDeleteAnd I'm loving the warmer weather. I'm only wearing one t-shirt under my jumper under my coat and it feels like freedom! :)
Thank you so much! You sound just like me - I can just about handle three layers at the moment too! x
DeleteBeautiful pics! Lovely outfit aswell, got to love stripes :) XX
ReplyDeleteOkay, that does not look cold! It looks beautiful and springy :)

I love the ripped jean trend, it adds an edgy twist to an outfit, and it's not unwearable like if the rips were high up near the thighs or something! You found a lovely little nature spot there btw, and I agree that it's good that we're not constantly just building houses and shops!

I like to dress my ripped jeans up, with a nice blouse and some heels or go completely casual with a tee or oversized sweater.
