The Prettiest Summer Nail Varnish Colours from Kure Bazaar

Kure Bazaar is a brand I've featured on the blog before. I was introduced to it back in spring 2018 and quickly fell in love with its beautiful shade range and caring, kind-to-nails formula. Containing Bamboo and Vitamin E to help strengthen and repair nails, the varnishes are also vegan and free from nasties such as formaldehyde and parabens, meaning that you can wear them on repeat without worrying about damaging your nails. This is great news, especially as the new summer shades are totally irresistible! I was very kindly sent three of them to test out, and I can honestly say they are some of the prettiest colours I've ever had in my collection.

French Rose Glow (AD)

French Rose is one of Kure Bazaar's best sellers and reportedly a favourite of Meghan Markle. The new Glow version is the same shade, only more intensely pigmented and with an ultra shiny gloss to it. A perfect soft pink, you can layer one to two thin coats of this for a beautiful sheer finish, or build up several more to achieve something more opaque - if you are careful enough and have the patience, that is! This is ideal to wear as an every day summer colour, or all year round. Your nails, but better.

Sereno (AD)

I'm not drawn to blue shades of nail varnish that often, but when they're as pretty as this, I will happily make an exception! Easier to build to an opaque finish than the others, this stunning cornflower colour will make a lovely change from the pinks and corals I usually wear through the summer months. Blue never looked so feminine!

Rose Milk Glow (AD)

My favourite of the three, Rose Milk Glow is very similar to French Rose Glow, only slightly brighter and possibly a little more flattering on my fair-to-medium skin tone. This one looks really beautiful with a tan! Again, it's a more pigmented and shinier version of Rose Milk, another bestseller for Kure Bazaar and another favourite of Meghan Markle. I've gone for a semi-opaque finish here, but just like with French Rose Glow, you can veer either side of this depending on how many coats you apply.

You can shop the post below if any of these varnishes take your fancy. After all, if they're good enough for the Duchess of Sussex...!

What nail varnish shades are your favourites in the summer?

Two Nail Vanish Brands That Nourish Your Nails - 1

A lot of makeup products seem to offer additional benefits these days. Foundations and base products contain SPF and added skincare, we have lipsticks that moisturise our lips and mascaras infused with oils to nourish our lashes. Nail varnish is no exception, and I've been enjoying a couple of brands recently which, in addition to boasting lovely shades and formulation, also offer care and nourishment for your nails.

Sally Hansen Color Therapy

Readily available in most drugstores, the Sally Hansen Color Therapy range is one I started getting into at the beginning of this year. Like a lot of us, I'm a huge fan of wearing nail varnish and I'm more likely to be found wearing it than not. In fact, I often feel as though my outfit isn't complete unless my nails are done. Yet continually wearing varnish, and in particular the regular use of remover, can leave my nails feeling dry and brittle at times. The Sally Hansen Color Therapy varnishes contain argan oil, so they help to add moisture and nourishment back into your nails while at the same time giving them a coat of colour. There is a wide shade range available, but at the moment I'm loving creamy nudes like Re-Nude (my favourite) and the slightly more pink Blushed Petal. They give a beautiful gel-like finish and I'm looking forward to trying some of the brighter shades when summer comes.

Kure Bazaar is not a brand I had heard of before a few weeks ago, but I was kindly sent three of their varnishes recently and I'm very impressed. The shades I have are Rose Snow*, a beautiful nude and my favourite at the moment (and the one you can see in the photo of my hand), Sunset*, a mid-pink that's perfect for spring, and finally, Catwalk*, a striking deep violet. Not only do these varnishes contain Vitamin E and Bamboo to strengthen and repair nails, they also boast a 90% natural formula and are free from some of the more harmful chemicals nail varnishes can contain, including Toluene, Formaldehyde and Parabens. They're not tested on animals and they're vegan too, which is something that more and more people are looking for these days.

With all these things left out (and replaced with unusual ingredients like cotton, corn, wheat and potatoes!) I was a little bit sceptical about how the Kure Bazaar polishes might apply, but I needn't have worried. The formula is smooth and creamy, and the finish is streak free with a lovely shine to it. The brand isn't cheap, but if you're looking for high performing natural nail varnishes with added nourishment for your nails, I definitely recommend it.

My nails are usually kept very short so I can't attest to whether or not these varnishes would help to stop splitting or breakage. However, I do feel that they've been looking that little bit healthier in between manicures. Add to that the fact that these are all beautiful colours with lovely finishes, and it's safe to say I'm going to be carrying on using them!

What's your go-to nail varnish shade right now?

April Favourites 2017

This month, I've been loving nourishing hair and nail care, clarifying skincare, a beautiful scented candle and a cute cross body bag from Topshop. Wanna see? Well, keep reading!

1.  Dove Dry Oil hair care range - Shampoo, Conditioner and Treatment Oil

April Favourites 2017 - Dove Dry Oil Hair Care Range - Shampoo, Conditioner and Treatment Oil

As far as I'm concerned, this range can hold its own against any high end shampoos and conditioners out there. Beautifully nourishing, it's exactly what my dry, damaged hair needs - regular readers will know all about the overly bleached areas I'm currently growing out! My hair is also quite fine, so while the temptation is to slather it with moisturising products, I also have to be careful not to weigh it down too much. This range is perfect for keeping that balance. My hair feels soft after washing and conditioning, while the treatment oil adds shine. My one gripe is that the intensive hair mask that used to be part of the range seems to have disappeared from the drugstore shelves. Please Dove, bring it back!

April Favourites 2017 - Origins Clear Improvement Active Charcoal Mask

I've had this mask for ages, but I've discovered a new appreciation for it this month. Why? Because I started to get lazy about using it, and noticed a deterioration in my skin as a result. I can get breakouts on my chin and forehead if I'm not rigorous with my skincare routine, and I know now that using this twice a week really helps to keep those pesky spots at bay. Needless to say I'm going to make more of an effort to keep using it from now on!

April Favourites 2017 - Sally Hansen Vitamin E Nail and Cuticle Oil

If I've been lazy with skincare lately, one area where I've been making more effort is nail care. This moisturising oil really makes a difference to my nails and cuticles, and helps to keep them looking neater and more polished. I massage it into my fingertips whenever I give myself a manicure, and also a few evenings a week before bed.

April Favourites 2017 - Mini Moderns Darjeeling Scented Candle

OK, I'll admit, I haven't had this candle all month. In fact, I only received it about a week ago. But I knew as soon as I laid eyes on it that I was going to love it. First of all, just look at how pretty the jar is! When the candle's finished, it will make a lovely makeup brush holder. And then, of course, there's the candle itself. The fragrance - tea, fresh green fig and spicy white pepper - is delicate and absolutely beautiful. Both relaxing and luxurious, it has a hint of the exotic, whisking you away to a far away land as you close your eyes and breathe it in. I do love a scented candle and this is a really, really good one.

April Favourites 2017 - Topshop Cross Body Bag

An absolute bargain at £19.00, I've been taking this cute little bag everywhere with me this month. It goes with everything, fits all your essentials without too many problems and totally looks designer. There is also a light pink version with silver hardware, which I probably need. Rude not to at these kind of prices, no?!

What have you been loving this month?
