How often have you seen #eatclean beneath one of my Instagram posts? That's right, never. As much as I like healthy food (I enjoy my avocado on toast as much as the next blogger), I'm definitely no super clean eating, dairy free, sugar free, gluten free vegan goddess. I like my red meat too much. And, for that matter, a nice, crusty white baguette. And chocolate. And the occasional glass of wine. And chocolate.
It's probably also worth noting that I have a naturally skinny body type, and it's hard to feel motivated to cut a lot of things out of your diet when you know you'll end up looking like a walking skeleton as a result.
That said, I'm always careful to keep things as healthy as realistically possible, and when it comes to adding the stuff that's good for me, I'm a lot more likely to make the effort. Particularly - and I'm not sure if I should admit this - when that good stuff is likely to improve my looks as well as my health. Yep, I'm vain and shallow, what can I say?!
When I heard about Beauty Elixir*, a supplement powder created by Alchemy Super Blends, it sounded right up my street. I don't usually take supplements, except for multivitamins occasionally if I've been feeling a bit run down, but the nice thing about this one is that it's completely organic and made from superfoods. There is nothing more annoying than taking something that is supposed to be good for you and wondering if some of the ingredients are actually bad for you! With Alchemy Super Blends, you are literally getting powdered berries and plants, and nothing else. The Beauty Elixir contains baobab, acai, goji berries, camu camu, pea protein and wheatgrass - in other words, the perfect cocktail of anti-oxidants, Vitamins C and E, beta carotene and iron to promote collagen production, protect skin and encourage healthy hair and nail growth. The Alchemy team was also kind enough to send me sample packs of their other Elixirs - Morning*, Sport* and Energy* - which all contain slightly different blends.
Another thing I really appreciated was the little cards included in the package which offered suggestions of recipes to add the powders to. I've had the morning shot a few times, and while I can't say it's the most delicious thing I've ever tasted, it's certainly drinkable, and it's great to know I'm giving my body a nice dose of goodness to start the day on! The Alchemy website is also a good source of other healthy recipes for smoothies, juices, porridge, energy balls etc, all of which enable you to integrate the powders into your daily diet.
The Alchemy Super Blends Elixirs are a great way to supplement your diet in a natural way and I will definitely be using the Beauty one to make sure I'm looking my best this summer! Have you tried any natural supplements?

*Gifted product. All opinions, as always, are my own.
I am not a big fan of supplements, no matter if they are natural or not, but i do like to eat, and because I am naturally curvy, I try to eat fruits and nust and berries a lot. Keeping me healthy while satisfying my sweet tooth, at least in parts. But for someone that struggles to eat healthy these seem to be a great alternative. Oh, and i loved the Avocado reference. Blogger food!

I'm terrible at eating fruit! Fortunately though I do like my veggies. Yep, if you don't like avocados, are you even a blogger?! x
DeleteThis sounds like a great way to get supplements into you without having to swallow loads of capsules! I have to take so many every day that I almost feel like they are swishing around inside me sometimes! lol! xx
ReplyDeleteBeautylymin
I am hopeless at swallowing tablets/capsules unless they are absolutely tiny, so the fact that these come in powder form is a big plus for me. x
DeleteI am not the healthiest person but this has motivated me! Will defo be trying this out!

DeleteOh gosh, clean eating, what's that? Haha! As much as I try to eat healthy, at least during the week, I make up for that during weekend, lol! You're very lucky with your figure, lady :)
ReplyDeleteThese powders seem like a great way to implement some more vitamins and nutrients in your diet. x

They are! I'm all for anything that's effortless. I tend to relax healthy eating rules at weekends too! x
DeleteI tend to make my own smoothies but I have heard of supplements to give you extra nutrients. I am wary of some healthy products but these sound really beneficial, thanks for sharing Kate :)

ReplyDeleteYes, they really are so easy to use! x
DeleteI am like you, naturally small frame so if I go on a diet, I will look really thin and unhealthy. I do take supplements every morning and have done so since I was 13 and I swear it helps. This sounds amazing and I wonder if they are available worldwide?
ReplyDeleteIt's a balancing act isn't it? Yes, this company ships worldwide so you are sorted if you fancy giving them a try! x
DeleteLoving that packaging and your photos.
ReplyDeleteI agree with you.
I try to eat well - but I am def not a saint. I try to stick to Anti-inflammatory eating and even if I do indulge I try to make better choices. Like a clean alcohol (vodka, gin) or eating dark chocolate instead of milk/white etc etc.
That smoothie of yours looks delicious!

Thanks Kiri! I agree, it's easier to compromise than try to be too strict. x
DeleteI can't say I am a huge fan of red meat but chocolate and ice cream? Yes please, I eat them every day!! I do clean eating once in a while but I cannot stick to a specific diet for longer than a week, I gotta have my sweets as soon as I finish!! x

I know what you mean - a meal isn't complete without sweets! x
DeleteFrom tomorrow I want to kick start my healthy eating and exercising regime after totally giving it up whilst on holiday and these sound like they would make a great addition. I'm not health expert either and just do what I can so things like this which would make it a little easier are great :) x
ReplyDeleteI think that's what so appealing about these supplements for me - how easy they are to use. x
DeleteThese little packets seem amazing, and it does make sense to take care of your skin through the inside as well as the outside. Great post!
