It occurred to me recently that I've shown you this top in both a wishlist post and a favourites post, but not actually styled it up for a proper outfit post before. Given that I love it so much, I thought it was about time I put that right! It's the Topshop Structured Bardot, and you've probably seen it all over the internet by now.
There's a good reason for this. It's beautifully designed, feminine, made from gorgeous silky fabric and available in a rainbow of tempting colours. I've mostly been wearing mine with skinny jeans and heels for evenings out, but it works really well styled more casually too. Everything I'm wearing here is from Topshop, but other than the top, it's all old. The button through skirt has proved very useful - great in winter with over the knee boots and a striped polo neck, and equally good with bare legs and sandals now it's warmer.

For me, a denim mini and flat sandals is pretty much a summer uniform, something I turn to year after year. The bardot top brings it right up to date. On holiday, this is essentially what I wear on a daily basis!
Have you embraced the off the shoulder trend? And what's your summer uniform?

I struggle with finding a decent bra to wear when I am wearing off-shoulder. Strapless isn't enough at the moment.

OMG, you're not alone. I'm flat chest and I feel very self conscious wearing a strapless bra and feels like it's always sliding down.
DeleteIt can be annoying yanking up a strapless bra every five minutes, I agree! The Debenhams bra I reviewed recently is the best one I've tried so far, but they're never going to be as secure as a regular bra. The struggle is real! x
DeleteThis top is beautiful! And, like you mentioned, can be easily styled more casually or glammed up with skinny trousers and high heels. x

DeleteIt looks so good with the denim skirt, it would never occur to me to style that way but it really works! You look lovely as always.

Thank you! x
DeleteI'm with Anne, the reason why I stay away from bare shoulder tops like this is I feel extremely uncomfortable wearing strapless bra. That said, you look absolutely lovely with that top, love the colour too.

Sometimes a top just comes along and you think, you know what, you are worth struggling with a strapless bra for! As I said, I have one now that's pretty good, but even so I wouldn't run for a bus in it, if you know what I mean! x
DeleteBeautiful top! Any recommendations for a decent strapless bra?! xx

Haha, the strapless bra thing is quite an issue, isn't it?! Well, I wrote a whole post about the Debenhams 24 hour one here:

This is definitely the best one I've tried so far and does stay up pretty well. One thing I will say is that loose tops like this pose the biggest challenge to a strapless bra. A tighter off the shoulder top would be more wearable in that sense. x
You look amazing ! Love how you styled it x

What a beautiful top! I haven't been able to wear an off the shoulder top since my 20's. Not sure it's a look I can pull off well these days lol. It looks great on you though!
