Get to Know Me Tag

I've been blogging for nearly six months now, and it occurred to me the other day that I haven't shared a huge amount about myself in that time. What better excuse could there be to do a Get to Know Me Tag? That's right, none!

There's a few versions of this floating around the internet. Some have 100 questions. Don't worry, I've plumped for a 25 question one.

Here goes!

1. Do you have a middle name?

Um... Yes. It's Louise. Shocker.

2. What was your favourite subject at school?

English, art, history. All the humanities!

3. What's your favourite drink?

Kind of depends on a lot of factors. Time of day, the weather, occasion, etc. As I write this it's the end of a long, hard working day, so I'm longing for a nice glass of wine and some fancy crisps. This particular combination, to be enjoyed at approximately 5.30 pm, is known in my family as a "drinky-poo". That's the official technical term.

4. What's your favourite song at the moment?

Lily Allen's "Air Balloon" has been going around my head for ages.

5. What would you name your children?

Erm..... No idea. I feel like I'd have to meet them first, if that makes sense?

6. Do you participate in any sports?

No. I hate sports. But I love yoga, Pilates and aerobics.

7. What's your favourite book?

I thoroughly enjoyed the Game of Thrones books and can't wait for the next one to be published. But my all-time favourite book is probably "Watership Down" by Richard Adams. It's beautiful and I've read it more times than I can count.

8. What's your favourite colour?

Again this depends on many things, but I tend to prefer warm rather than cool colours.

9. What's your favourite animal?

I love all animals, but cats are pretty amazing.

10. What's your favourite perfume?

It's currently Stella by Stella McCartney, but I'm a big fan of Jo Malone perfumes too. I've decided that I want to branch out and try some new perfumes soon. It's important to keep setting new goals in life.

11. What's your favourite holiday?

Christmas I guess, though I love all the different seasons and enjoying what each one brings.

12. Have you graduated from high school?

Yes. Quite some time ago. Moving on...

13. Have you been out of the country?

Yep! I've seen quite a lot of Europe, including Cyprus, Greece, Spain, Portugal and the Netherlands. I've been to the U.S. too and I also lived in Belgium for around 13 years and loved it.

14. Do you speak any other languages?

None fluently, though I understand Dutch quite well and a little French also. I can order a chocolate milkshake in Spanish, which is a vital life skill.

15. Do you have any siblings?

Yes, I have a sister who is also my best friend.

16. What's your favourite store?

I go through phases. It's Zara at the moment. I also love Topshop, River Island and H&M.

17. What's your favourite restaurant?

Now this is easy. It's called the Belgaqueen and it's in central Brussels. The decor is amazingly beautiful and they serve delicious locally sourced Belgian food.

18. Do you like school?

Like I said, school is a fairly distant memory for me, but on the whole, yes. My A-level years (16 to 18) were fantastic and I had the best time.

19. Who are some of your favourite Youtubers?

The Persian Babe has amazing style and I could listen to her talk all day. I also love Pixiwoo, Beautycrush and Shirley B Eniang. Beauty and the Blog does some lovely makeup looks. I try not to get hooked on too many though, because I work from home, so the potential for distraction is real and dangerous!

20. What's your favourite movie?

It's impossible to give just one answer to this. The most recent ones I can think of are the last two Planet of the Apes movies. I didn't expect to like them that much but I thought they were amazing. You've Got Mail and Lost in Translation are also springing to mind. And the movie of Watership Down will always have a special place in my heart.

21. What are some of your favourite TV shows?

I was obsessed with Lost. I'm also a big reality show fan, though I tend to watch them for the clothes and makeup rather than the "story". I miss shows like Buffy and Charmed. Those were the days.

22. PC or Mac?

PC. Is it still OK to call myself a blogger?!

23. What phone do you have?

iPhone 5. Redeemed myself slightly with that one.

24. How tall are you?

5'3.

25. Any pets?

No. But one day when I have the time to look after one properly, I want a dog or a cat. Or a parrot.

So there you have it! 25 things you didn't know about me, and probably weren't going to ask! I hope you found it at least mildly entertaining.

I'm quite excited at the moment, as I'm attending my very first blogging event on Friday. My plan is to do some posts next week about my experience, what I wore, etc. So stay tuned for that! In the meantime, if anyone reading this fancies doing this tag, then consider yourself tagged, my friend! Let me know if you do it and I'll come take a look!

That's all for now!

  8. Was so lovely to learn more about you Kate! Throughly enjoyed reading your post and answers.
Jo Malone perfumes sound really amazing, I've had my eye on Red Roses for a while... just sounds divine :) Stella also sounds very enchanting. Note to self: try more perfumes! ;) How fantastic you've travelled lots and lived in Belgium for 13 years! That's absolutely wonderful! How did you find it?
It must have been amazing to have experienced living in another country and soaking up the culture and nuances that come with doing so.

I smiled at the ordering a chocolate milkshake in Spanish part, that would be a must for me too, ha!
Really related to your choice of favourite movies; I love You've Got Mail and my friend introduced me to Lost in Translation several years back... what does he whisper in her ear?! It's going to bug me for eternity!

Really excited for you going to your first blogging event, that sounds incredible! Despite me calling myself a fashion blogger, there's so much fashion coverage during LFW, so it will be lovely and make a refreshing change to hear more about a make-up/beauty event. Can't wait to hear more! :)

    1. Thanks so much Sophie! Red Roses is amazing, one of my favourites. A lot of people aren't keen on rose scents but I can't get enough of them.

Belgium was a fantastic experience for me and I will always think of it as a second home. It's not very far away, but different from here in many ways.

And yes, what does he whisper? I guess we'll never know! Beautiful film.
